The Reason We Fear

The revelation behind this song was birthed from my own personal pursuit of freedom. I pray this encourages you today..

When God emphasizes something repeatedly, it signifies His deep concern, expressing His desire for both you and me to experience absolute freedom from it.

In the last three years, there has been a surge in teachings, sound bites, and quotes persuading the body of Christ to, rather than casting out the spirit of fear, cohabitate with it.

“Do it afraid.”

“Do it scared.”

“Fear is normal.”

and all the other statements that oppose the word of God.

I want to push back on this subject today because often what we perceive as one thing is not at all what it really is. We only experience fear when there's an underlying issue brewing in our hearts.

If fear dominates your thoughts, it suggests that somewhere in your heart and mind, you're concealing something.

You might be lying to yourself about something.

Deep within, you may be avoiding confronting past experiences, leading you to keep secrets, hide, and hinder yourself from fully living or expressing your true self.

 This is called shame.

Fear and shame work hand in hand.

They are twins.

One doesn't exist without the other

What you may see as you being afraid of people and what they think is actually you being afraid of what will happen if you told yourself or accepted the truth.

Your mind has yet to accept that if you acknowledge and accept what happened to you or a poor decision from your past, you will no longer be in control.

The truth is you won't be, and you need to lose control. You don't need to do anything afraid. The spirit of fear needs to be cast out of your mind.

The questions you should pull up a chair and air out to God – The Perfect Love (1 John 4:18) about today are:

  • What am I hiding?

  • What am I lying to myself about?

  • Is there anything in my heart that is hindering me from abiding in perfect love?

Remember: What you don't expose in the light to God, the enemy will exploit. The only thing capable of casting out the spirit of fear is perfect love.
