Praise and worship to God is not about “feeling” but about how God commands us to fellowship with Him.
In His presence, He will do and give you direction for the following : (Psalm 103:1-5):
✨ Forgive your sin
✨ Heal your diseases
✨ Redeem you from the pit
✨ Crown you with love and compassion
✨ Satisfy your desires with good things from Him
One of the things that has served me well is learning how to be pliable—easily bent, flexible—before God. If He changes the plan, then that change is what I’ll yield to. If He shifts the direction or sends me another way, then that’s the way I’m headed.
We can hinder the move of God in our lives by not being pliable to Him. Being pliable means you are easily bent and flexible to God.
When you're not pliable...this causes you to pray from a place of limitation solely based on what you have seen in seasons past and the lives of others not realizing that those were only meant to be moments that encourage you to have or increase your faith.
There are so many outcomes, directions, etc that can change depending on who or what is involved that you don't see and don't give God the chance to cover, provide, or redirect because you believe that He's only going to show up this or that one way.
This is really what causes you to miss out on opportunities, divine appointments, relationships, etc that you often blame the enemy for.
I know we read Isaiah 55:8–9:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
And while it’s good to know this scripture—applying it to your life is another thing entirely.
There is an S after ways and thoughts. That means there’s MORE THAN ONE WAY God has. That means there’s MORE THAN ONE THOUGHT God has.
This means you have to choose to come up higher in submission in order to receive it and for the ways or thoughts He has to take root in your heart.
And if you’re in a constant state of confusion in life: Being pliable in God’s hands is the key to escaping that confusion.
Whenever we become stubborn in heart and choose not to be open to receiving His thoughts and His ways—we start to drift into confusion. Then comes doubt, faithlessness, and all the other things that can be avoided if we simply take the time to do exactly and plainly what Matthew 6:31–33 says:
[31] Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ [32] For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. [33] But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
So, what if the remedy for the anxiety you feel in this season is directly connected to your willingness to be pliable to God?
The beautiful thing about all of this is that you can choose how hard this has to be.
You can choose the hard that comes from being stuck or you can choose the hard that teaches you how to endure, wait, and produces more of God in and through your life.
You can choose to be open, flexible, and easily bent in any direction by God.
Pray this:
Holy Spirit, help me to be easily bent, flexible, and influenced by You.
